If you’re lucky, this March, you may catch a rare glimpse of the undefeated Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KOs) who it seems will finally step into the ring once more, this time at light-heavyweight and against Sullivan Barrera (17-0, 12 KOs).
According to The Ring, the pair will do battle on March 26th in Oakland’s Oracle Arena.
If the fight does go ahead it will be the first of a three-fight contract Ward has with HBO. A deal which hopefully culminates with a showdown against Sergey Kovalev at the end of the year.
Ward has been somewhat of a ring recluse in the past few years, competing in only two contests since 2012. Hence, Ward will be keen to show that ring rust has not set in and prove he can hold his own at light-heavyweight when he squares off against Barrera in March.
