WBO light middleweight champion Liam Smith (21-0-1) could make his first title defence against Shane Mosley (48-9-1) in December.
Smith, who won the vacant WBO light middleweight title with a vicious knockout victory against John Thompson just a few weeks ago quickly found himself in a war of words with Mosley.
It all started when Mosley compared Smith’s fight poster to a “boy band ad,” to which Smith replied “I didn’t once disrespect you, old man. So don’t start.”
Mosley not one to back down, retaliated “I’m old. So old I will snatch your title away quick as you got it. He don’t want these hands. They gonna try to shoot me a low ball offer no one would take to save face.”
Smith and Mosley proceeded to trade virtual blows in a Twitter feud that we may see transferred into the ring.
A potential bout fight would, however, feature on the undercard of the Andy Lee vs. Billy Joe Saunders bout and that may be something that discourages Mosley from accepting the bout.
