Anthony Crolla (30-4-3) achieved a lifelong dream when he snatched the WBA lightweight title from Darleys Perez (32-2-1) in Manchester with a fantastic body shot during the fifth round. The pair fought a fast paced fight and whilst Perez held his own – Crolla was clearly on top throughout.
On the undercard, Ryan Burnett (12-0) totally dominated Jason Booth (38-14) in their bantamweight bout winning a unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the fight 120-107.
Tyrone Nurse (32-2-1) squared off against Chris Jenkins (16-1-1) for the vacant British super lightweight title in a rematch that was just as exciting as their first encounter.
Nurse hit the canvas in the fifth but fought well through the middle and late rounds and did enough to get the nod from the judges. At the end of the bout, the judge’s scorecards were 116-111 and 115-112 (twice) in favour of Nurse.
Featherweights, Isaac Lowe (11-0-1) and Ryan Doyle (11-1-1), battled to a draw over ten rounds for the English featherweight title. The judges scorecards came back 96-95 to Doyle, 97-93 to Lowe and 95-95 even.
Brian Rose (28-3-1) won a shutout over eight rounds against Ruslans Pojonisevs (16-37-1), whilst flyweight, Charlie Edwards (6-0), scored a sixth round stoppage against Phil Smith (6-2).
Marcus Morrison (8-0) had a tough night against Simone Lucas (8-27-4) just snatching their six round middleweight contest, 58-57.
The first bout of the night saw Liam Taylor (13-1) stop Imre Simon (6-16) in the second round of their super lightweight encounter.
