Floyd Mayweather Jr. insists he has no interest in returning to the ring and is completely focused on working as a boxing promoter.
Mayweather Promotions is starting to build a very competitive stable featuring the likes of WBC super middleweight champion, Badou Jack.
Floyd is confident that another of his fighters, Ashley Theophane (39-6-1, 11KOs), can claim the WBA light welterweight title when he steps out against Adrien Broner (31-2, 23KOs) in April.
Mayweather, who is close friends with Broner, recently found himself in the midst of a very public argument with the WBA champion.
Although the argument has been resolved for the time being, it would appear to be a ticking time bomb which is likely to explode when we get closer to fight night.
“I put Ashley Theophane in a position where he’s fighting for his first world title against a very tough and rugged Adrien Broner. It’s going to be a very good fight but we believe in our guy. I want everyone from the UK to come over to the States and support this champion, because he will be champion,” said Mayweather, speaking to Sky Sports.
