Super lightweight contender, Lucas Matthysse, is reported to be in serious contention for a fight with the eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao, which could ruin a potential showdown between Khan and Pacquiao.
In the last few weeks, there has been much chatter in the boxing world about Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent.
Amir Khan emerged as the favourite and is currently the only fighter in active talks with Pacquiao.
However, Oscar De La Hoya stated that he had been speaking to Bob Arum about a potential matchup between Lucas Matthysse and Manny Pacquiao.
This revelation has led pundits to suggest that if Matthysse can impress against the undefeated Viktor Postol when they square off on Saturday night, then he could be first in line for the fight with Pacquiao.
Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, said that he likes the idea of a Matthysse fight as their similar styles could make for an all-out war.
