Malignaggi vs. Branco likely for Joshua vs. Whyte card

Paulie Malignaggi

Former WBA welterweight champion, Paul Malignaggi (34-7), looks set to face European welterweight champion, Gianluca Branco (49-3-1), on the undercard of Joshua vs. Whyte at 02 Arena in London.

Branco won the then-vacant European belt by retiring Rafal Jackiewicz in six rounds during their clash last November.

Malignaggi, has kept himself busy lately, last seeing action in October when he won an eight-round decision over Laszlo Farekas. The victory against Farekas came just weeks after losing a ninth round stoppage to Danny Garcia. A contest against Branco would mean three fights in four months for the Brooklyn native.

As yet, no confirmation of the contest has been made. However, an official announcement is expected in the next few days.
