Australian lightweight contender, George Kambosos Jr, has revealed that he is keen to square off against the former world champion, Anthony Crolla, or British Olympian, Luke Campbell.
Kambosos, who currently holds the WBA Oceanic and IBF Pan-Pacific titles, is ranked number five by the WBA just one place behind Crolla and two places behind Campbell.
Speaking exclusively to BNTV, Kambosos spoke of his desire to take to the road and earn his stripes.
“The UK’s own, Anthony Crolla, he’s a guy that’s really in our sights, that I would love to fight anytime, and obviously come to the UK and do it.”
When asked to confirm that he would be willing to travel to the UK to face Crolla, Kambosos Jnr agreed, stating:
“Yeah, definitely, or [Luke] Campbell — one hundred percent. I’d like to earn my stripes by coming to the UK and fighting.
“Obviously Crolla has been a great Champion for you guys and an ambassador of the sport in the UK. [I want] to come over there to Manchester and fight him in his hometown. Fight him in his backyard, and beat him in his backyard. I think that’s how you earn your stripes.”
