Frank Warren has partnered with the BBC, who have secured exclusive radio rights for Tyson Fury’s highly anticipated comeback fight against Sefer Seferi at the Manchester Arena on June 9th.
Fury, the former WBA, WBO and IBF Heavyweight World Champion will return to the ring to face Seferi after a two and half year leave of absence.
Warren’s deal with the BBC launched in April, with their coverage of Carl Frampton’s decisive victory over four-weight World Champion, Nonito Donaire at The SSE Arena in Belfast.
The BBC’s second outing took place at Elland Road, where Frampton swapped his for a microphone, teaming up with the BBC’s Mike Costello, commentating as Josh Warrington became the first fighter from Leeds to win a world title when secured a split decision victory over domestic rival Lee Selby.
The next stop for Costello and his commentary team is the Manchester Arena as Fury looks to reclaim the throne in the heavyweight division and Frank Warren is predicting more fireworks when Fury returns on June 9th.
“I’m delighted to partner with the BBC for exclusive radio commentary on one of the most eagerly-anticipated comeback fights of all time,” said Warren. “This is even more brilliant news for fight fans following the success of our first two events with the BBC. We’ve already delivered two memorable nights and on June 9 I’m predicting even more fireworks when the big man finally gets himself back in the ring and under the lights.”
