Felix Sturm failed drug test after Chudinov win

Reports from Germany are claiming that WBA super middleweight champion Felix Sturm failed his post-fight drug test after claiming a majority decision win over Russia’s Fedor Chudinov in Germany just two months ago.

The initial report was published by Bild, which claims that Sturm test positive for the steroid, Stanozolol.

Sturm thoroughly denies the claims and plans to seek legal representation to contest the findings.

“I swear that I have not knowingly taken anything like this by any means. I have been safely tested a hundred times, with blood and urine. There have never been any issues. I have an absolutely clear conscience. I’m going to get a lawyer,”
said, Sturm.

However, in Germany, with such rulings rarely overturned even Sturm will find this a tough battle to win.

It seems the most likely outcome will be that Sturm loses his world title, with Fedor Chudinov reinstated as champion, and their bout ruled a no-contest.
