On the undercard of Cotto vs. Canelo, IBF bantamweight champion Randy Caballero (22-0), squares off against Lee Haskins (32-3).
This fight was originally scheduled for February but postponed due to an injury Caballero sustained to his ankle, when a cyst was found in his ankle, thankfully it was benign and surgery was able to remove it.
“It was tough having the surgery and having to stay off the foot,” said Caballero. “I feel a lot better going into this fight. My foot isn’t going to give me any problems. I am going to give it all I got.”
Caballero also stated that he is eager to share the ring with the cream of the crop should he get past Haskins on Saturday and may even move up in weight in order to do so.
“The sky is the limit,” Caballero said. “We are ready to take out the whole 118-pound division. I am ready to take on anybody with a title in my weight class. Whatever I have to do I will do. I am ready to show the people that I am back and better than ever. I will jump to 122 if there is an opportunity there. I will go as far as my body will take me in the sport of boxing.”
