Adrian Broner (31-2, 23 KOs) scored a TKO victory against Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-2, 9 KOs) in the 12th round of their contest for the vacant WBA light-welterweight title on Saturday.

Broner left it late but was able to seal the deal in the 12th round, catching Allakhverdiev at will until the referee, Harvey Dock, stepped in and called a halt to proceedings.

Broner has now held world titles in four divisions and was immediately linked with a number of names, including; newly crowned WBC light-welterweight champion, Viktor Postol (28-0, 12 KOs), and Ashley Theophane, (39-6-1, 11KOs).

The newly crowned champ spoke on the Ashley Theophane rumours and his next moves in a post-fight interview with FightHype. “I’m going to fight whoever I want to fight whenever I want to fight,” said Broner. “They say my big brother Floyd Mayweather has a fighter that he thinks can beat me. I think his name is Ashley.”
