Most underrated active boxer?

Domestically – Darren Tetley – a 13-0 welterweight who is fighting for the English welterweight title in the next few months.

Looking further afield – Avni Yildrim, a super middleweight from Turkey, looks very promising. You can expect to see him in some big fights very soon.

What was your Fight of the Year in 2016?

I don’t know if there were any “classics” this year but there were some good fights. I liked Chocolatito vs Cuadras but my number one pick has to be Vargas vs Salido – it was a real war and the punch output was unbelievable.

What was your Round of the Year in 2016?

Round six or round ten from Vargas vs. Salido – both were jaw-dropping.

What was the best KO of 2016?

We saw some fantastic KO’s in 2016 but when Justin DeLoach squared off against the undefeated prospect, Dillon Cook, I don’t think anybody expected such a brutal KO.

What was the worst fight of 2016?

Take your pick from any of Anthony Joshua’s fights – they were all poor.

That’s not a dig at Joshua either, because I really don’t believe that it’s his fault he ended up with a string of uninspired opponents.

Which fight do you most want to see in 2017?

There are a lot of fights I really want to see in 2017, but, more than anything I just want to see Tyson Fury back in the ring.

The five boxing wizards jump quickly.
