The eagerly anticipated contest between heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko, and undefeated contender, Tyson Fury, has been rescheduled for November 28th due to an injury sustained by Klitschko during training.
Sky Sports is yet to approve a revised date and without their approval, boxing fans may be forced to wait until February 2016 to see the highly anticipated bout.
Initially, the world title fight was due to take place in Germany on October 24th, however, when Klitschko injured his calf muscle during training the contest was delayed.
The current delay appears to stem from Sky’s decision to package Kell Brook’s bout with Diego Chaves, in Sheffield as part of their Klitschko vs. Fury PPV event.
When the Fury vs. Klitschko fight was postponed Sky decided to keep the Brook fight as a standalone PPV event.
As a result, if Sky were to turn around and offer Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko as an independent PPV just a month after Brook vs. Chaves, it would not sit well with fight fans in the UK.
A formal announcement from Sky is expected in the coming days.
