Amir Khan has stated that he will make an announcement regarding his career in the next ten days and the former world champion insists it will shock fight fans the world over.
Khan, who claimed Silver in the 2004 Olympic games, has been out of action since May 2016 when he was stopped by Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in the sixth round of their catchweight contest.
After the Canelo defeat, Khan had two operations on his right hand to correct an injury which has bugged him since the early days of his career.
While speaking to Talk Sport, Khan revealed that he is keen to fight again, and on home soil – something he hasn’t don’t for some time.
“I haven’t fought in the UK for seven years. It is time to come back home now, so I am looking at fighting in March,” said Khan.
“Then I plan to fight again in the UK around September time and then at the end of the year I want a big fight, wherever that is.
“There are some big, big announcements I will make within the next ten days before I go back to training camp in America. This [announcement] is news everyone is going to be shocked hearing.”
